From survey to working heat.
Every heating install runs the same five-step process. The engineer who quotes is the one who fits — no sales-to-fitter handoff.
- Site survey (30-45 min, free) — flow-test the mains, measure radiators, check gas pipe size, photograph the existing boiler position.
- Written quote (within 48 hours) — itemised, fixed-price, for the exact boiler we’re recommending. Valid 30 days.
- Booking and equipment order (2-4 weeks) — we order the specific Worcester / Vaillant / Daikin model from trade and confirm the install date.
- Install day (1-5 days on site) — combi swap 1 day, system 2-3 days, heat pump 3-5 days. Hot water back at the end of the work.
- Commissioning & handover — flue-gas analyser test, gas tightness check, controls programming, manufacturer warranty registered, Gas Safe Building Notice lodged.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme & ECO4 in Kent.
Two grant routes worth knowing:
- Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS): up to £7,500 toward an air-source heat pump in England and Wales. MCS certification required — we submit on your behalf via the installer portal. Approval typically 1-3 weeks.
- ECO4: for households on certain benefits, can fund the full boiler replacement on EPC D-G properties. Benefits-based eligibility — we check at survey.
- Great British Insulation Scheme: covers loft and cavity insulation up to certain limits, often the prerequisite to a heat pump performing well.
All work is Gas Safe registered and lodged with the Gas Safe Register on completion. Combustion testing with a flue-gas analyser is part of every install.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a combi boiler swap take?
A like-for-like combi swap is one full working day on site, usually 09:00-17:00. We turn the water and gas off at the start of the day and you have hot water back the same evening. More complex jobs (relocations, pipe upgrades) take 2 days.
Are you Gas Safe registered?
Yes. South East HVAC Design & Installations Ltd is Gas Safe registered as a company, and every gas engineer carries a current Gas Safe ID card. Every install is lodged with the Gas Safe Register on completion via a Building Notice.
Can you apply for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme on my behalf?
Yes. We are MCS-aligned and submit BUS applications via the Ofgem installer portal for eligible homeowners. The £7,500 grant is deducted from your final invoice — you don't pay it up-front and reclaim.
What warranty do you offer on heating installs?
Two-year workmanship warranty on every install. Manufacturer warranties on equipment: typically 7-10 years for Worcester / Vaillant combis when registered within 30 days (we register on your behalf), 5-7 years for heat pumps.
Do you remove the old boiler?
Yes. Removal, recycling under WEEE, and disposal of associated pipework and old controls are all included in the install price. The space is left clean and ready for any decorative reinstatement.
